Iris Monroe Boyer arrived six weeks earlier than expected, and at nine days old, she weighs four pounds, two ounces. To help Iris adjust to stimulation, Littlejohn sings her a lullaby. A South Florida senator Tuesday filed a proposal that calls for state regulation and licensure of music therapists. The bill, filed by state Sen. Jeff Clemens, D-Lake Worth, says “the practice of music therapy should be subject to regulation to ensure the highest degree of professional conduct and to guarantee the availability of music therapy services provided by qualified professionals. Florida Hospital Orlando music therapist Antonio Milland strummed his guitar and sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” while stroke patient Tyson Brandt grasped a mallet with two hands and tapped a paddle drum. “Take a big breath in,” Milland said as Brandt, 48, smiled and leaned forward in his wheelchair toward the drum.
