LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A La Crosse senior resident center is making a relatively small amount of money go a long way. Hillview Health Care Center is using a less than $1,000 state grant to fund a special kind of music therapy. It’s called Music and Memory. The program uses the power of music to help seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia relax and even tap into old memories. Read more here…

There has been a surge in the practice of using music as a medical treatment during the past 10 years. In fact, Pennsylvania has the highest number of music therapists in the country, at around 400.
