The point shot was headed high. Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson deflected it down, off the ice and behind Canadian goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer. Linemate Alex Carpenter raced to the puck and swatted it in, giving the U.S. a 1-0 overtime win over Canada in the gold medal game of the IIHF Women’s World Championship – the latest thriller in a long line of them between the teams.
