SARASOTA – A celebratory grand opening of a rock music soundstage for children in Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s pediatric care unit abruptly became a closed-door event Monday morning. AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson and his wife, Brenda, donated an undisclosed amount of money to create the “Brian Johnson Music Therapy Center” at the hospital. Read more here

Lora Barthelman owns Music Therapy Services of South Dakota and has been in music therapy for 22 years. She previously contracted her services with various facilities and school districts. Warrior Cry Music Project, an organization based in San Antonio, provides free musical instruments and lessons to injured soldiers around the country to help them through the healing process. Two budding DJs with learning disabilities have honed their new DJ-ing skills after taking part in a six-week music workshop at the Langford Centre in Bexhill hosted by musical health organisation Fresh Track.
