Meth-Wick Community Tests Music Therapy Program

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A therapy program pioneered by a New York man has made its way to an Iowa assisted-living community, with the goal of using music to help patients with dementia.The program, called “Music and Memory,” tries to find the connection between music and the mental gaps of a person suffering from a cognitive disability. The Meth-Wick Community is piloting this program at its Woodlands facility, which houses about 65 residents suffering from some form of dementia. Read more here…
