Hamilton orchestra plays ‘healing music’ for Remembrance Day

Conductor Gregory Vajda says many Hamiltonians are entering Remembrance Day this year in a state of shock and pain, still mourning the death of local soldier Cpl. Nathan Cirillo who was slain in Ottawa. To honour Cirillo, and all of the other soldiers who have served, Vajda will lead the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra through a series of songs he calls “healing” during a Saturday night concert at Hamilton Place. Music therapy center’s grand opening abruptly closed

SARASOTA – A celebratory grand opening of a rock music soundstage for children in Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s pediatric care unit abruptly became a closed-door event Monday morning. AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson and his wife, Brenda, donated an undisclosed amount of money to create the “Brian Johnson Music Therapy Center” at the hospital. Read more here…

Every Wednesday morning, wounded warriors gather at the San Antonio Military Medical Center for therapy that rocks. Warrior Cry Music Project, an organization based in San Antonio, provides free musical instruments and lessons to injured soldiers around the country to help them through the healing process.
