Wendy Mitchell has been living her life like one of those canvases you put in a spin-art machine. She moves at high speed, drenching herself in community and color — even dying her hair a bright, fiery red. “Normally it’s brown with red highlights,” said Mitchell, whose sister owns Salon Kamala in Bethel and usually cuts and colors it for her.
