An angel in a Yorkshire Terrier suit. Those are the words we used to describe our family Yorkie, Peekaboo. In 2003, my father was paralyzed from an ischemic double stroke and spent the next 10 years in need of nearly constant care. In the sterile, somber environs of skilled nursing facilities, the daily arrival of a prancing, perky pet brought spontaneous energy. Joy to the aged and infirm. Smiles to caregivers.
